How can we be sure our fitness programs meet your needs?  It's simple - We'll give you a variety of formats to choose from!

Afternoon Fitness - Exercise helps to control weight; combats health conditions & disease; improves mood; boots energy; promotes better sleep AND it’s fun! Our FREE Afternoon Fitness group participates in a variety of self-guided DVD fitness routines, which take  place Mondays, Tuesdays at 3PM.  All are welcome!

Meditation - On Mondays at 10 AM, the Swansea COA invites you to our Meditation program! Meditation focuses attention inwardly, with a deeper focus and awareness of the present moment. Living our lives reactively causes us a great of stress—the cause of many illnesses. Reacting to situations is sometimes necessary but responding to them could be healthier! Daily meditation could improve your quality of life. Gain a greater sense of awareness, focus, balance, and creativity. Deepen your own self awareness through acceptance with compassion and love. Join us—it’s FREE!

Meditated Movement - Meditated Movement is an introduction to Tai Ch. It’s perfect for beginners or others at any fitness level who seek to improve their overall health – mind and body. This fitness program is being offered through grant funds provided by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. We thank them for supporting this program and our seniors.  Join us Tuesdays at 10:00 AM for this FREE class.

ZUMBA! - is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates fitness with dance movements. This FREE low to moderate cardio-based workout continues Wednesdays at 10 AM. NOTE: This fitness program is being offered through grant funds provided by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. We thank them for supporting this program and our seniors. 

Meditated Movement - Join us on Thursdays at 2:00 PM for FREE Meditated Movement.  This introduction to Tai Chi iss perfect for beginners or others at any fitness level who seek to improve their overall health – mind and body. This fitness program is being offered through grant funds provided by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. We thank them for supporting this program and our seniors.   

Low-Impact PT - On Fridays, beginning November 30th at 2:00 PM, the Swansea COA begins a NEW fitness program—Low Impact PT. Thanks to a new partnership with Swansea’s YMCA and the volunteerism of instructor, Christine Medeiros—she will guide participants through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, flexibility, balance, and activities for daily living. Resistance training is performed with tubes and weights. Chairs are used for seated and standing support. This class is for all fitness levels.
