Osteporosis Strengthening Fitness Program - The Swansea COA will be offering a FREE Osteoporosis Strength Training Program Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9 AM. This is a low-impact program for building strength, increasing bone density and improving posture. This program is FREE open to all!
Meditated Movement - Meditated Movement is an introduction to Tai Ch. It’s perfect for beginners or others at any fitness level who seek to improve their overall health – mind and body. This fitness program is being offered through grant funds provided by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. We thank them for supporting this program and our seniors. Join us Tuesdays at 10:00 AM and Thursdays at 2:00 PM for these FREE class.
ZUMBA! - is a Latin-inspired dance fitness class that incorporates fitness with dance movements. This FREE low to moderate cardio-based workout continues Wednesdays at 10 AM. NOTE: This fitness program is being offered through grant funds provided by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs. We thank them for supporting this program and our seniors.
Low-Impact PT - On Fridays, at 2:00 PM, the Swansea COA begins a NEW fitness program—Low Impact PT. Thanks to a new partnership with Swansea’s YMCA and the volunteerism of instructor, Christine Medeiros—she will guide participants through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, flexibility, balance, and activities for daily living. Resistance training is performed with tubes and weights. Chairs are used for seated and standing support. This class is for all fitness levels.
