Important Dates to Keep in Mind - 

Special Town Meeting - Monday, August 20, 2018 @ 7PM and will be held at the Joseph Case High School, 70 School Street Swansea, MA.  The last day to register to vote for Town Meeting is August 10, 2018; the Town Clerk's Office will be open until 8PM.

2018 Election Information:

August 15th is the deadline to register to vote for the State Primary on September 4th; the Town Clerk's Office will be open until 8PM.

August 31st - Clerk's Office is open until 5PM for Absentee voting for the State Primary.

Absentee Ballots - are available for voters who will be away for the State Primary or General Election.  Please contact our office at 508-678-9389 ext. 2 or by email:  dpelland@town.swansea.ma.us

September 4, 2018 - STATE PRIMARY

Polls will be open from 7:00AM to 8:00PM - Voting location is the Joseph Case High School, 70 School Street, Swansea, MA

November 6, 2018 - State General Election - polls are open from 7AM to 8PM.

A note from the Town Clerk & Staff:

The Town Clerk’s Office strives to serve Swansea residents in an efficient, friendly manner.

The following is a list of services offered by the Town Clerk’s Office:.

  1. Birth, Marriage and Death Certificates.
  2. Business Certificates.
  3. Dog/Kennel Licenses.
  4. Shellfish Licenses.
  5. Marriage Licenses.
  6. Voter Registration.
  7. Town, State and Federal Elections.
  8. Posting of Board, Committee and Commission Meeting.
  9. Solitation Permits.
  10. Zoning Board of Appeals applications are filed with the Town Clerk.
  11. Cemetery – Mt. Hope & Vinnicum Woods – sale of lots; internments.

The Town Clerk’s Office is also responsible for the keeping of Meeting Minutes by various boards, committees and commissions; and the preservation and archiving of historic documents.
